Early renewal will safeguard ELS payments
This year is the 5th anniversary of ES, and the first tranche of ELS agreements will expire on 31 July 2010. In all some12000 agreements will expire this year and the Camapign partners are keen for farmers to stay in the scheme and take up measures that will count towards the Campaign.
New options have been introduced that contribute to the Campaign and we encourage every farmer renewing - or joining for the first time - to take up at least one CFE option.
Farmers, whose ELS agreements expire over the coming months, need to get their renewal application submitted to Natural England by the deadlines listed their latest update.
Provided that Natural England receive your valid application by the deadline, they guarantee that the new agreement will start immediately the old one expires.
The message to farmers is that you need to get your renewal application submitted in good time - missing the deadline may lead to a gap in payments.
