Land agents and managers day at Marlborough
Over 50 land agents and managers attended an open farm event at Temple Farm on Wednesday 19 May. The event was held in conjunction with CAAV and BIAC, and attendees had the opportunity to review and discuss ways that they could contribute to the Campaign.
With changes to the Entry Level Stewardship scheme high in everyone's minds and the Campaign's main aim to increase the key arable options within ELS schemes, the event looked in particular at dispelling many of the myths that surround some of these arable options.
Chaired by Henry Robinson, the Local Liaison Group chairman and vice-president of the CLA, attendees enjoyed presentations by Natural England's new SW Regional Director, Ciaran Gannon and James Phillips, also from Natural England and Peter Ridout from BIAC. Mike Swan from the GWCT ran through the ELS options and practicalities of establishing, growing and maintaining them.
In the afternoon Chris Musgrave hosted a farm walk around the Estate, looking at numerous options that Temple Farm has put in place through Environmental Stewardship and how they contribute to the Campaign.
Our day would not have been the success it was had it not been for the generosity and kind permission of Count Konrad Goess and Chris Musgrave
