On the Campaign trail
At this year's Cereals event, 9 and 10 June, the Campaign for the Farmed Environment partnership have put together an informal trail so that farmers and land managers can access information and practical advice about how to participate in the Campaign. The Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) are offering exciting prizes for farmers who collect stamps from the Campaign partner stands.
If you want to find out first hand why farmers are participating in the Campaign then visit the CFE stand (stand number 717) to meet some of the farmer chairman and Local Campaign Co-ordinators who are there to provide you with advice on how to take part in the initiative. You will also be able to get more information about the Campaign trail so that you can find out the answers to those burning questions you have. The Campaign partners are all involved in the trail and you can find out their stand numbers and details of what they are offering in the Cereals show guide and partner publications including NFU British Farmer and Grower and the CLA Magazine.
Many commercial businesses including HGCA, Kings, Velcourt and Growhow are participating on the Campaign trail and will be showcasing some of the key Entry Level Stewardship (ELS) options and Campaign Voluntary Measures to provide farmers and land managers with a practical demonstration about what the Campaign is seeking to achieve. They will be able to give agronomic tips about how to make these options work for you.
Finally why not consider attending one of the CFE seminars at the Arable Conference at Cereals? This is being held in partnership with the Oxford Farming Conference and will provide you with the opportunity to ask those pressing Campaign questions.
